Neon Light Night

MEGGA (Men Engaged for the Greater Good of America) had an event called Neon Light Night on Saturday, March 9th, located in Cheney hall, behind the Mount Washington dorms and about 89 people attended.
This event ran for about two hours. There was loud music playing as well as many Amazon gift cards that were raffled off. The room where the party happened was small and dark but had neon lights all over the inside. There were members of MEGGA throwing t-shirts into the crowd and a DJ played remixes of songs.
“We held this event to increase the awareness of sexual violence,”Preston Warren, a member of MEGGA, said.
Robert Kristiansen, another member of MEGGA, said.“The only problem we had was that the Cheney hall bathrooms were not open, but besides that everything was smooth sailing.”
He hopes that when they hold this event in the future they will be unlocked.
MEGGA has this event every year and encourages more people to join MEGGA.

There is a crisis of trust in journalism right now.
Many Americans say they don’t trust the news media anymore, and poll after poll shows that they want newspapers to be more transparent about how the news is gathered. This semester the Exchange is asking its reporters to describe what they did to report the facts, in what we’re calling a transparency statement. We ask our readers to feel free to use the comment boxes at the bottom of each article to call them out when the reporters may not have done enough and to compliment them when you think they’ve done a good job.
In order to write this Article I had to meet with Preston Warren and Robert Kristiansen of MEGGA and asked them why they held this event and asked them info about the event that people should know if they didn’t attend.
