by Magnus Leonard
An ex-Biogen employee hid her coronavirus symptoms in order to be allowed flight access back into China, according to NBC Boston.
The Chinese citizen living in Massachusetts was denied testing at a local hospital. She then decided to fly back to China through a connecting flight in Los Angeles.
Upon landing in China and receiving testing she tested positive for COVID-19, and is now Hospitalized. Jie Li used fever reducing medicine, and allegedly lied to flight attendants when boarding the plane.
The Chinese government said “she could face up to three years of imprisonment or detention, with possible forced labor or up to seven years in prison.”
Li, however did not attend the biogen conference in Boston that has been connected to up to 100 coronavirus cases.
Biogen has fired Li for her actions and the company says that Li made the decision to go back to china personally.
