Teachers, school employees, and many parents are concerned about the decision Governor Charlie Baker closed schools for the remainder of the academic school year shut down childcare programs.
While dealing with this pandemic the government is advising all people to stay home, only leave for essential goods and practice social distancing. The concern of Baker is that it will be spread as many students make contact with many things and one another.
“students cannot safely return to school and avoid the risk of transmitting the Virus is trying his hardest alongside the government to avoid the spread of this virus and keep the youth safe.
The concern of Baker is that it will be spread as many students make contact with many things and one another.
As baker cancels the rest of the academic year and non-emergency childcare programs through June 29 parents had a few things to say. “I Feel like this is the best decision that could’ve been made. As many people are working from home it will save them money by not having to pay for childcare, also it’s saving many parents like myself from the stress of knowing if your child is infected or not,” said Stephanie Abreu a mother with a three-year-old.
As the decision to close schools has already been made but there have been concerns from many childcare programs and many teachers through all that is going on many teachers and employees of schools are a concern if they are going to continue being paid regularly if they aren’t physically in the school. Dean of Discipline Christian Ortiz at Snowden international high school said, “it’s a bummer that the school year had to end this way especially for many seniors but also it caught me off guard as well as my colleagues, the concern that is in the back of our minds right now is if there is going to be a budget cut or if we are going to continue being paid.”
