Students don’t want to say goodbye

Students miss everything that Franklin Pierce has offered them through their time there.
A lot of students haven’t been to campus since leaving for spring break. For many students, the saying “you don’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone” has shown as they miss being at FPU and seeing their fellow students.
Sophomore Morgan Smith has been away from her football team where she is the kicker. “I miss my football team and our weekly lifts, making new friends, I miss it all,” Smith said. “I guess what I miss the most is the sense of comfort and the community of Franklin Pierce.”
For some students, just the atmosphere Franklin Pierce presents makes them homesick when they aren’t there. It gives some the ability to move away from a city while it feels like a vacation from being at home.
Junior Michaela Kowalski said she misses the feeling of being on campus. “The smallest moments are the ones I took the most for granted, like Pearly sunsets, seeing my friends everyday, and the overall atmosphere of home.” Kowalski said, “I got plenty of unconditional support from my friends and the faculty there that it was almost overwhelming at times.”
Sadly, this is the end for the senior class at FPU, and they have not been there to spend their last undergraduate months. Graduation has been postponed so they are spending their last college days at home and away from those they want to spend it with.
For senior Victoria Prest, this is reality. Prest said, “This school has given me incredible friendships that I know will last a lifetime and I had some of the best experiences with these people who I consider family.” This can apply to both students and professors. “I’m going to miss my professors a great deal! Being in the same major for four years get you close to them on a personal level.”
