Meet the new SGA executive board
by Alison Jankowski
It’s 8 p.m. and a nervous junior Jocelyn Gagnon sits at her keyboard awaiting the results of the SGA elections. Her nerves quickly turn into a feeling of happiness as the email blast appears with the news that she is the new SGA President.
The Student Government recently held its yearly elections for the 2021-2022 school year. The winners were President Jocelyn Gagnon, Vice-President Allison Wheeler, Treasurer Tyra Olmstead, and Secretary Albi Hayes.
Gagnon said that she “feels honored to be part of the Franklin Pierce community and hopes to make SGA more approachable, welcoming, and available to the entire student body as well as the staff during her term.”
Olmstead said she is “excited to once again be managing the finances in her role as SGA treasurer.” She appreciates the fact that SGA provides her with a voice as well as a vote on the changes that she would like to see on campus. She also enjoys being involved in the process of budget approval as well as the capital improvements taking place on campus.
After a trying year due to the COVID-19 pandemic both women look forward to keeping students informed about campus life and continuing to improve student experiences next year.
Current meetings are held Wednesday evenings at 6 p.m.
