Zumba classes are on their way to the Bubble
by Sam Powell
Forty-six students attended Franklin Pierce’s first zumba class in person and another 13 joined via zoom this past week.
An announcement for the introduction of these classes was placed in the Bubble’s announcement board where they have signups for other things such as intermural sports, renting equipment, and information regarding protocols while in the gym.
“I think this is a fun and exciting way to exercise. For anyone who hasn’t tried it, come to one class and I guarantee you will enjoy it,” said Nathan McCrohan, the junior student instructor of this class said in an in-person interview.
Zumba is an exercise program using dance and aerobic activity mainly focused on the improving the cardiovascular system.
The Zumba class does not count as a credit-based course, but rather a fun activity for students to do on nights they don’t have much homework.
One student, sophmore Madison Fox, is extremely excited for the class. In an in-person interview she said, “I did all kinds of dance and exercise in high school and by far my favorite was Zumba. When Nathan said he was going to start classes, I knew immediately I wanted to sign up”.
Students are ready to get their dance on as we move closer to the end of yet another great semester here at Franklin Pierce University.
