Israeli diplomatic missions were closed on Wednesday following a strike by Foreign Ministry workers in a dispute over overpaying overseas taxes, according to CNN.
Israel prohibited the missions and all the overseas services were inaccessible with “strike” signs that was appearing outside of the Israeli embassy in Washington.
The Foreign Ministry said, “No Services will be provided to the public and admission to delegations will not be allowed.”
Hanan Goder, Israel’s ambassador in South Sudan and the representative of the foreign ministry workers’ union said, “these taxes would also apply retroactively, a move that would cost Foreign Minister employees thousands of sheckles.”
