The remains of Israeli soldier Zachary Baumel have been found and brought back to Jerusalem 37 years after going missing in the Lebanon War, according to the New York Times.

When Baumel was 21-years-old, he went missing and was thought to be killed a few days after the Israelis started their invasion of southern Lebanon in 1982.

In 2018, a Palestinian soldier said he found three Israeli soldiers’ remains in a cemetery in a Palestinian refugee camp in Damascus.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said,“The operation to return Zachary Baumel back home is an example of the camaraderie that defines us as a nation, as an army and as a state.”
