Professional baseball scouts will come to Franklin Pierce University to watch the Men’s Baseball team showcase their talents.

Scout Day was originally planned for October 15th, but has now been pushed back to the week of October 30th. Scout Day on campus was moved back because there wouldn’t be enough time for all the scouts to make it on Campus. The scouts have other Universities to attend. However, the organizations will be here on campus to watch the Ravens in action on the 30th.

According to the players on the team, they have been working hard nearly every day to prepare themselves to perform in front of up to 15 major league scouts.

Team manager Evan Glew said, “The guys have been putting themselves out there and grinding to follow their dreams into making to the show.” Before being a team manager, Glew played baseball for the Franklin Pierce Ravens in the 2018 and 2019 seasons.

The franchises coming to check out the Ravens are from both the National and American leagues. However, the names of the franchises could not be released until the day of the event.

The team will go through evaluations at their positions. Pitchers will get to throw about eight pitches while the scouts evaluate how hard they throw as well as how much their different pitches move. The more movement on a pitch and the faster it is the more likely they will raise attention.
