The Career Center will be offering an Internship Workshop, at the Center for Academic Excellence, on October 30th.
The workshop will provide professional services and occurs annually to help students use Pierce Portfolio and other resources to find an internship. The Career Center has an abundance of review tips for applying and for interviewing.
Freshman Alia Goldek said, “Even though I’m a freshman I’m excited to see how this workshop will help me get some internships in the future.”
The Career Services provide students with career development support through a five stage model. This model molds the career planning that makes sure all students discover campus resources, explore career opportunities, and engage in learning more about internships.
Ann Goodrich-Bazan, assistant director of Career Services said, “The Pierce Portfolio allows students to connect with our expansive network of employers and to incredible internship opportunities around the world.”
The Career Center offers schedules that are flexible for all students. In the past, the internship workshop would be held on Tuesdays at 10 a.m. but was not successful. Now the workshop is more interconnected with resumes as well. It is held in small groups for more focus and better connections.
Transparency Statement: For this particular article I had to email Ann Goodrich-Bazan of Career Services to see if I could schedule an appointment with her. Unfortunately, she had a very busy schedule and would only be available for about 10 minutes on Wednesday October 30 the day of the Internship Workshop. It was a bit difficult to get more information from this event since it is such a small event.
