Senior Erin Kelly and junior Delaney Waite are working behind the counter, they work from 7:30 a.m. till 9:30 a.m. every Friday. They are talking to professor Bill Costa, who comes in every morning for a coffee and a quick conversation.
At this time on Fridays, people quickly stop in and out of the café compared to the afternoon, according to Kelly. Although, there is a girl sitting at a table enjoying a breakfast sandwich and a coffee. Other than her, the café generally has a quiet atmosphere.
When someone came in to order a coffee, they ordered their usual small iced coffee and added an espresso shot. According to Kelly, espresso drinks are the most popular. “People add espresso to their original drink of Friday,” said Kelly.
Two more people came in and browsed the pastry section. Once they came to the counter, Kelly took their order and Waite made their drinks. When ordering, the two people both asked how many raven points they have left on their card. Student generally use their raven points at the café. After this, they were talking about how they’re almost out of points since it is the end of the semester.
As the hour comes to a close, more and more people come into the café to grab a coffee before class. According to Kelly and Waite, the café is the most crowded right before a class starts.
