Big Set-Up for No Crowd

No students attend presentation on EduCause on Friday, November 22.
As 3:00 p.m. approached Dr. Donna Decker and Dr. Mary Kelly review the presentation script among themselves as studio faculty connect them to microphones and begin adjusting the cameras. EduCause is a conference held in Chicago that discusses the benefits of utilizing technology to solve dilemmas that schools generally struggle with. There were approximately 20 empty chairs aligned around a podium in the recording studio in anticipation of a presentation regarding the conference Educause. Despite setting up the chairs, Dr. Decker and Dr. Kelly said, “It’s Friday afternoon at 3:00 and it is raining, we did not expect a big turn out.”
Dr. Decker and Dr. Kelly attended the conference along with 83,000 other professionals and 800 presenters. Dr. Decker and Dr. Kelly deliberated on aspects of EduCause that they believe would be accommodating to Franklin Pierce.
Media Technology Specialist Andrew Zurheide said, “The recording studio is usually pretty busy, today alone there were three events; a cooking show was actually recorded today.”
