Newsbrief: Earthquake causes disaster in Turkey

There was a confirmed 9 killed and at least 30 injured in a 5.7 magnitude earthquake in Turkey and Westeren Iran according to This New York Times article.

The quake was focused on the iranian city of Khoy and the villages surrounding it. The New York Times article said that three children and four adults were killed in the Baskule village.

The two other fatalities were recorded in Ozpinar village. The Iranian News agency IRNA said “ the earthquake had damaged homes and other buildings in 43 villages in the mountainous Qotour area.”

The region is very prone to earthquakes and just last month one Earthquake killed over 40 people. This particular quake destroyed 25-90 Percent of all 25 villages.

There was also several aftershocks recording about 3.9.
