Virtual Graduation for the Class of 2021

Senior Dina Martucci showed mixed emotions when seeing the graduation ceremony would be held virtually this year.  Martucci said, “To work extremely hard for 4 years and not be able to have your parents or other family is tough, but I can understand it.”

Martucci added, “My family lives in Florida, and for us to have a graduation on ground the university has to keep the Covid-19 cases below 20. So I think it’s safe for everybody especially my family if they do not attend unfortunately.”

The Class of 2020 did not have any family members in attendance for their graduation last year due to the pandemic as well. Families had to attend over a live stream instead. The school plans on following the protocols of the State of NH which still has not lifted many mask or social distancing mandates.

This has forced the school to once again announce as of April 16th the Class of 2021 will not have family or friends in June and it will be streamed once again. Martucci said, “Obviously It would be nice {to have family in attendance} but the fact that I get a graduation is all I could ask for.”

Senior Josh Dorr said, “It’s tough that we can’t have a graduation with family. After all we’ve had to go through this past year it would be awesome to be able to cap it off in front of loved ones. I can understand why it’s happening, but it’s very unfortunate.”

The school plans on resuming all fall activities with no restrictions for the 2021/2022 year. This would mean no masks, no social distancing and all restrictions would be lifted which has caught the eye of some of the senior class graduating only 2 months earlier.
