Glow with the Flow Party attracts new faces

The Pierce Activity Council (PAC)’s neon-themed paint night drew 51 students into Spagnuolo Hall on Saturday, February 23.

Spagnuolo Hall was filled with neon and black lights, contributing to the glow theme of the event. Students painted mason-jars with glow in the dark paint while listening to upbeat music with their peers. Students also had a chance to receive an air-brush tattoo, decorate spin-art hats, and enter for a chance to win six raffle prizes.
Junior Zoey Yamamoto, who attended the event with a group of her friends, said, “The Glow Party was a nice change from my typical weekend routine. My friends and I do not usually attend PAC events, but we decided to give this one a try. It was a very relaxed, yet fun environment and I like the fact that these events are free of charge to students. It opened my eyes as to what I have been missing out on and I am hoping to attend more PAC events this semester.”
Senior Kaitlyn Puzzo, PAC’s vice president, said, “PAC has never held an event where students could paint a black light mason jar before.” Since there was a high success rate with this event, she believes PAC will look into hosting an event like this again in the future. One of her ideas for next year is to possibly add a black light shirt to paint and some different activities for students to participate in.
PAC meets every Thursday at 6 p.m. in the Monadnock Lounge and all students are welcome. PAC has an event-filled spring planned for students. The events include a Red Sox Game, Sun Fest, and many more Bingo Nights. More information on future events can be found on the Raven Nation app, or the PAC Instagram page, @FPUPAC.

Many Americans say they don’t trust the news media anymore, and poll after poll shows that they want newspapers to be more transparent about how the news is gathered.
This semester the Exchange is asking its reporters to describe what they did to report the facts, in what we’re calling a transparency statement. Sydney attended the Glow with the Flow Party on Saturday February 23. Attending the event allowed her get the full experience in order to elaborate on the event in my article. She spoke with Bailey Clapp the day after the event, so that Bailey would have time to figure out the number of students who attended the event. Sydney also spoke with Zoey Yamamoto the day after the event to capture her point of view from Saturday night. It was nice to talk to someone who does not usually attend PAC events because it may promote others to attend the events as well. Vanessa emailed Kaitlyn Puzzo for information since she in on the executive board of PAC and is able to provide a lot of information about events ran by the club.
