The sophomore class is holding a winter wonderland event with indoor skating this Friday, February 22nd, at 7 p.m. in Spagnuolo Hall.
The indoor ice skating rink is actually an acrylic material with special skates. “So, you’re basically able to ice skate without ice” said Ryan Ducrow, vice president of the sophomore class.
At the event there will also be a smore’s bar as well as a hot chocolate and a stress ball making stations. The event is offered to everyone and is free.
“Our goal is just to have a big turn out and give people a winter wonderland feel without exposing them to the cold,” said Cody Tallent, senator for sophomore class.

There is a crisis of trust in journalism right now. Many Americans say they don’t trust the news media anymore, and poll after poll shows that they want newspapers to be more transparent about how the news is gathered. This semester the Exchange is asking its reporters to describe what they did to report the facts, in what we’re calling a transparency statement. We ask our readers to feel free to use the comment boxes at the bottom of each article to call them out when the reporters may not have done enough and to compliment them when you think they’ve done a good job.
For this article Alena Masterson and Madison Leslie conducted an interview with two members of the sophomore class about their upcoming event. The two members included Ryan Ducrow the Vice President and Cody Tallent a Senator for the class of 2021. The interview consisted of questions about their winter wonderland event and some details that we knew students were curious about. As the event is in the near future they found it important to share the information for the upcoming event. After Ryan Ducrow allowed them to take his picture to accompany the article. Then the article was written up from the interview and the quotes were put in. The article was then submitted to Professor Bush in order to be reviewed and revised.
