Forty eight students piled into a Boston-bound school bus on Friday night, March 1st for the TD Garden where the Celtics defeated the Washington Wizards 107-96.

Alicia Berry, Assistant Director of Student Involvement and advisor of PAC, felt the trip went very well and said, “It helps the Celtics won!”

For yet another year, the Celtics trip hosted by PAC was sold out in minutes. Berry said the question she keeps getting asked is “when is the next trip?” Renee Corriveau, a freshman who attended the event, said she “loved it and got to enjoy the experience with friends.”

A big reason the Celtics trip is so popular on campus is the price. While the balcony seats for the game originally cost $65, PAC sold tickets to students for just $20, which not only includes the game, but free transportation as well.

Corriveau said, “The price point for the game was well worth the experience. “She added that she would recommend going in the future because it was “cheap and fun” and “was a great way to get off campus for a night.”

While the turnout of the event was strong, Berry said, “While I love having huge turn outs for any events, I’m always happy with the turn out as long as the people there had a great time.” Some upcoming events hosted by PAC include Comedy Night with Kiry Shabazz, Comedy Night with Mission Improvable and the Red Sox field trip on April 27th.

There is a crisis of trust in journalism right now. Many Americans say they don’t trust the news media anymore, and poll after poll shows that they want newspapers to be more transparent about how the news is gathered. This semester the Exchange is asking its reporters to describe what they did to report the facts, in what we’re calling a transparency statement. We ask our readers to feel free to use the comment boxes at the bottom of each article to call them out when the reporters may not have done enough and to compliment them when you think they’ve done a good job.

For this article, I interviewed the Assistant Director of Student Involvement and advisor of PAC, Alicia Berry via email. I also interviewed Renee Corriveau in person, a freshman student who attended the game. I also attended the game myself.
