College of Business ribbon cutting

The newly renovated College of Business had its official ribbon cutting ceremony this past Thursday, October 21st. 

The event began with an introduction speech from the new Dean of the College of Business, Norm Fioala, who discussed his life so far as a Raven. 

Following Fioala,  President Kim Mooney gave a speech thanking everyone for being there, giving credit to the individuals who are a part of the business advisory board and thanking donors. However, Mooney finished her speech urging everyone to not satisfied with the current status of the University and to continue to innovate to make the surrounding community better. 

The head of the Business Advisory Board, Thomas Raffio also gave remarks regarding the process of upgrading the College of Business and the potential in the students that he had interacted with. 

“My hope is that this newly renovated space invites minds of all sorts, not just business, to come and explore the business side of the world,” said Raffio.

she described the newly renovated space as her “second home” and a “new place to get down to business.” 

Afterwards, Kelly said, “I definitely think this is a major plus for the University and students. This is a great resource for the University to use as a potential selling point for prospective students, as well as another great location for students to get work done and interact with their professors.”

The ceremony concluded with a reception that included food, beverages and the handing out of Top of the ‘Nock maple syrup as gifts to the guests.

 

 

Transparency statement: I attended the ribbon cutting ceremony as a reporter to obtain info of what unfolded at unveiling of the new College of Business. I listened to the speeches that were made and interacted with all of the guest who were invited to the event. The audience included fellow students, faculty and staff, alumni, board members, and members of the community.
