Discovery Day is new to Franklin Pierce for potential incoming students on Saturday, November 9th .

Discovery Day opens up to high schools sophomores, juniors, and seniors from across the nation. Traditional open houses show the school off to those visiting. Abbigail McMaster, the associate director of Visitation and Event Manager, said, “We are anticipating roughly 500 prospective students and guests combined.”

Discovery Day includes a free meal, tours, and information that makes Pierce different than other universities.

McMaster said, “We decided to change the name in order to try and gain the attention of a broader and larger audience.”

Pierce is doing this in efforts to recruit more students to enroll. Discovery Day will show off the views on campus as well as the great community built by previous students.

The first ever discovery day will be held on November 9th. This event will be run by McMaster.

Abbigail McMaster discussed what’s new for Franklin Pierce. She has held this position throughout her entire time here at Pierce. However, she has only been here for several months. She started working here on August 1st, 2019.
