Wild West Casino night filled Spagnuolo hall with over 100 students gambling the night away.

Over 100 students turned out for the class of 2021’s annual Wild West Casino night this past Friday, Feb. 7 The event was so successful that students stayed 30 minuets beyond the planned closing time.

The western theme prompted many students to dress in jean outfits and bolo ties. The students could win chips from playing black jack, roulette, poker, and from the longest rider on the mechanical bull.

The students exchanged their chips for raffle tickets. Each students got at least 10 raffle tickets and got to try for prizes that included five different $50 gift cards, a 20 pound weighted blanket, a Bluetooth speaker that looked like an old school cassette player, and a yogi-bo.

There was also complementary popcorn and a bartender making specialized drinks to fit the theme. “The sunrise sunburn sunset and repeat contains fruit punch, sunny D, and grenadine, it’s pretty good but is a lot going on,” said Doug Quinn.

Junior Michael Mottola said,“Personally the most famous drink of the night is the southern roots, which is just root beer. I got five of them so far.”

The events photo booth was proved popular. The western theme shined when students used fake rifles and shot guns to pose for the picture, wearing a variety of cowboy hats and bandannas. The students also got to pick the background of the picture to set the theme that included a wanted sign over their head.
