A Massachusetts assisted living facility has been taking extreme cautionary measures to prevent exposure of Covid-19 to residents and employees.

This home has gone to the lengths of not allowing family members to visit and taking the temperature of every employee that enters the building. There is only one door allowed for entering and exiting the building.

Emma Moley, an employee, has been on the frontlines of this pandemic. “We’re all doing our best to keep everything running smoothly so the residents don’t have to worry,” said Moley. “They should feel safe in their home the same way we do.”

Residents are no longer allowed to eat communally in the dining room. “We had to adopt a whole new system,” said Dining Room Server Emma McCracken. “It’s been difficult, but with problem-solving, brainstorming and teamwork, we’re able to do it well.”

Donna Venturo, a chef at the assisted living facility, has been taking cautionary measures in her personal life to ensure residents’ safety. “I send my daughter out to the grocery store for me only when absolutely necessary,” said Venturo. “There is nothing more important than these residents’ safety, and their safety depends on us.”

Moley, McCracken and Venturo asked for their assisted living facility not to be named.

All employees are required to wear a mask in the building, gloves when necessary, and to continuously wash their hands.
