The poster concluded that adipose stem cells help older individuals to rebuild bone tissue compared to younger patients.

“At first, we didn’t understand the differences between stem cells from different parts of the body,” said Pribyl during an email interview. “A lot of the research we did had to be on the background to our main topic so that we had a full understanding.”

Students were able to view the poster asynchronously as well as many other projects on the day of the Academic Showcase.

Sophomore Krista Hermandinger viewed Pribyl and Schaefer’s poster and said, “The poster was nicely organized and had a lot of interesting information.”

It took weeks for the authors to complete the final project and to prepare it to be presented during the Academic Showcase.

Dr. Robert Anzalone sponsored Pribyl and Schaefer’s poster.
