Mad dash for Red Sox tickets

by Madison Leslie

For the first time in recent Pierce history the information desk is selling 32 Red Sox tickets for $20 each on April 10th at 11 a.m.

Tickets are first come, first serve and only one ticket person is allowed.

Scott Ansevin-Allen, Assistant Dean for Student Involvement, said, “This is the first time while working here, for us to get Red Sox tickets.”

The game will be played April 27th at 4:05. The bus time is to be decided but is estimated to leave at 1 p.m.

Student Involvement has also sold Celtics tickets and the tickets sold out quickly.

“The tickets in both years I’ve gone to the Celtics have sold out within 15 minutes or so and I had a great time. It was great to get off campus for a night!” said Eben Gourlay, sophomore.

Derrick Scalia is the advisor for the trip. This ticket event is sponsored by Student Involvement and PAC.

Students will need to bring their student ID to take advantage of this opportunity.

There is a crisis of trust in journalism right now. Many Americans say they don’t trust the news media anymore, and poll after poll shows that they want newspapers to be more transparent about how the news is gathered. This semester the Exchange is asking its reporters to describe what they did to report the facts, in what we’re calling a transparency statement. We ask our readers to feel free to use the comment boxes at the bottom of each article to call them out when the reporters may not have done enough and to compliment them when you think they’ve done a good job.

I was informed of the event by the Information Center. I also conducted an email interview with Eben Gourlay regarding his experience at the Celtics game and ticket purchasing process. I also called and emailed with the Student Involvement Deans; Alicia Berry, Scott Ansevin-Allen and Derek Scalia.
