Turnout was less than expected when The Pierce Activity Council (P.A.C.) hosted GrooveBoston for the 2019 spring concert Saturday, April 6th.

Roughly 40-50 people attended the concert. GrooveBoston is an EDM group that was “different from DJs that hosted past raves” according to Brenda Bounphakhom, a freshman in PAC. Although the turnout was less than expected, Bounphakhom said “everyone had fun while they were there.”

Sophomore Aaron Brown said, “Once people started showing up, the show got better.” However, some of the music was “outdated with dubstep from 2012,” said Brown.

“GrooveBoston was a great production group to team up with,” said Bounphakhom. According to Brown, with the help of a confetti cannon the stage set up “looked like a real concert.” Bounphakhom did point out that the lack of attendance, “The more people, the better because there could have been more interactions with each other.”

PAC continues to host events on campus to get students involved. Some upcoming events include Comedy Night with PAC with Mission Improvable and a Red Sox Bus Trip.

There is a crisis of trust in journalism right now.
Many Americans say they don’t trust the news media
anymore, and poll after poll shows that they want newspapers to be more transparent about how the
news is gathered.
This semester the Exchange is asking its reporters to describe what they did to report the facts, in what
we’re calling a transparency statement. We ask our readers to feel free to use the comment boxes at
the bottom of each article to call them out when the reporters may not have done enough and to
compliment them when you think they’ve done a good job.
For this article, I interviewed Brenda Bounphakhom of PAC via email. I also spoke to Aaron Brown, who attended the concert, in person to get his quotes for the article.
