Head coach of women’s and men’s golf Tyler Bishop gave individual lessons at the Bubble.
Bishop has been the coach for the last six years. Since then he has made improvements to the golf team.
The golf season is during the fall and spring semester, during the off season the golf team has mandatory swing sessions held in the bubble. In the facility theirs an indoor turf and a hitting bay for the golfers.
The indoor facility has been in the bubble for the last four years, but last year there were renovations done. A new swing net, turf for hitting and putting, and a flight scope to analyze the players swings.
“Our objective here is if we need to get our swings changed or corrected this is the time to do it because we don’t have to play tournament golf.” Bishop said, “It keeps us mentally focus and prepared for the up coming spring season.”
Bishop’s main purpose during this time is looking at each player individually and to analyze each swing and make improvements. The use of the flight scope helps him see the statistics during each session.
Senior Sydney Caron said, ” I enjoy being able to take limitless amount of swing and break it down with the pressure of being on the golf course.”
Each athlete is required to come down to the bubble and get some practice in during their off time.
Sophomore Lenny Schwartz said, ” I love the opportunity to get better everyday and learn more about the golf swing.”
