Movie night experienced a turn out of no more than ten in Spagnuolo Hall on Thursday, October 24th.

The students gathered to watch a showing of the documentary Maiden, released in 2018. The documentary is about Tracy Edwards leading the first all female crew in the Whitbread Round the World Race, a yachting competition, in 1989. The movie night was sponsored by Honors Society as well as Women in Leadership.

Robert Goodby, director of the Honors Program, said, “I got the idea for the movie night featuring the film Maiden after hearing a story about it on National Public Radio, and then seeing it at the Colonial Theater in Keene.”

Ameryca Freeman and Felicia Walalis, members of the Honors Student Advisory Council and honors program, contributed to the planning and coordinating of the event.

Women in Leadership is coordinating with the Psychology Club to throw an event on October 30th in regards to domestic violence awareness month. Walalis said “Women in leadership sponsor the Vagina Monologues in the spring and honors program events pop up frequently so keep your eye out.”
