For my project, I created a short interview/documentary on how the Coronavirus has affected college students. Some of my goals to accomplish during this project were to create a compelling story, improve my writing skills, and improve my video editing skills.

I choose this as a backup project after the Coronavirus started and I was unable to do my original project due to the location becoming unavailable and quarantine started. Since the virus affected me in a huge way I thought that it would be interesting to share how the virus has affected other college students across the country. To complete this project I had to use different video chatting applications like facetime and zoom to record audio and the interviews. The next step of the project was to edit the video into different drafts along the way.

My Senior project took me for a ride that I wasn’t able to anticipate and tested my critical thinking of how to creatively create a whole new project out of what I wanted to do for a project in the first place. I want to go into Production work ether, video editing, production assistant, or producer. After thinking about these avenues I would like to go down during my career I thought that creating a short doc/interview would be able to show off my storytelling skills and video editing skills. Some advice I would have for juniors and sophomores would be to easily adapt to any situation that comes your way. Being able to use your critical thinking skills and creative problem solving to get out of a situation similar to mine will be important in the job world.

I really enjoy the idea for this project, it is interesting and has relevance for every college student. It is important for Other students however college is something we pay a lot of money for and this topic is something people want to hear. One thing I recommend is to re upload the file because it wont load on the exchange.

    Tyler,
I really like how you related it to the world today. You showed how well you excell in certain place. YOu did great with your editing and video work. I think you wrote a really good explanation as well for this. I’mglad you took us through the process of everything. It shows how passionate you are. YOu should be proud of this.

  3. I liked how at the beginning you had a quote of someone who thought it wasn’t a big deal in the beginning, this interview flowed really well and regardless if it was on Zoom or Face time, the screen recording helps relate the viewer to what students are going through right now. Knowing this wasn’t your initial capstone project makes it even more impressive as you were able to find people to interview, edit their responses together, and compile your information and explanations very quickly. You can clearly adapt and overcome challenges and should definitely promote that fact.

I enjoyed your project for many reasons. I Think it’s a great idea to be able to get the opinion of students all around the nation other than students from out region. It’ll show so a lot more perspective of how it was and is being handled in different states and schools. it’s something new because we already know whats going on around here. I also Liked how you were able to overcome adversity and use your skill of creativity to start fresh as well as using the problem you faced as advice to juniors and sophomores. Keep up the good work and best of luck!

I really like how you managed to make a hard situation into an opportunity, Even though many obstacles came in your way you don’t give up no matter what. I also really like dhow you made your project on something so prevalent to these times. Though I wasn’t able to see your documentary I like how you outlined your process. Saying how you when about trying to get interviews and putting together the whole project. It shows how inventive and adaptable you are especially in challenging times. Highlighting your problem solving and creative thinking as important skills is also incredibly smart to do. It will show not only future employers your skills, but also future students on what they need to be able to do. Great work and I know it will definitely be something for everyone to watch!
